I have 4 computers running Win7 Ultimate. They are all in a homegroup, which works fine. On my 'MainPC' I store data, do backups, share printers etc. This all works fine. However, when I connect to my work VPN from 'MainPC', via Citrix Access Gateway, the homegroup no longer works. I cannot see other home networked PC's and they cannot see 'MainPC'. I have searched for answers to no avail. Is there any way around this?

Hi , This issue may occur if you configure the VPN connection to use the default gateway on the remote network. This setting overrides the default gateway settings that you specify in your Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) settings. To resolve the issue, you need to make the following configurations. Step 1: You need to contact your administrator of the VPN Server to configure the Server that is running routing and remote access to use a static IP address pool. Step 2: Disable Use default gateway on remote network setting in the VPN connection item on the client computer. 1.go to Control Panel (small icons)>network and sharing center>Change adapter settings which is in the left panel. 2.Right-click the VPN connection that you want to change, and then click Properties. 3.Click the Networking tab, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in the Components checked are used by this connection list, and then click Properties. 4.Click Advanced, and then click to clear the Use default gateway on remote network check box. 5.Click OK, click OK, and then click OK. Thanks for the detailed post Tracy, I appreciate it. Things didn't work exactly as suggested, but it got me thinking. The gateway connection was set to split tunneling and included ip addresses for the local and remote networks. What worked was turning on access to local network resources and removing the local ip address range from the gateway profile so that the local network connection did not send requests through the remote network, thereby maintaining the integrity of the local homegroup. All these settings were made in the gateway configuration.
